California Highway 1 stretches from southern California to northern California.  The most scenic portion runs along a ragged coastline from San Simeon to Carmel. It is often described as the most scenic coastline in the world.  I make the trek several times a year, but my favorite time is during the winter when the surf is pounding, the clouds are hanging low,and the rain is blowing horizontal.  I will update this page from time to time with the change of the seasons.
